beyond the borders - looking further
general overview
The Basque Country is surrounded by regions that, once in the North of the Country, worth a visit. Navarra, a vast country that goes from the deeply forested southern Pyrenees to the riverside of the Ebro and its Mediterranean orchards. Crossing the border to Iparralde (French Basque Country) means enjoying the freshest oysters, tasting an extraordinary diversity of cheeses or even sprinkling some Ezpellette paprika. Further south Burgos with its unbeatable country gastronomy led by roasted lamb and Ribera del Duero wines… You don’t want to miss that, I can tell you.
